Having an advanced degree means I had to write a lot of papers. But that didn’t make me a better writer. I still want to give another shot at writing though. A few years ago, I went on a road trip with my best friend. I drove from Western NY to meet up with him in Massachusetts, and then we embarked on my first journey to the Southern States: Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas, and many more. A big part of the trip was to visit our alma mater, Indiana University Bloomington (I know that’s not the South, but it was on the way). I was so excited to step foot in the Kelley School again. A place I spent five years goofing off. But I was shocked. The school has undergone rennovation. It looked way different from what I remembered (which was not much to begin with), and I navigated through the building as if I have never been there before.
So I told myself, I must keep better records of things I don’t want to forget. I tried taking more pictures. And maybe writing some of these things down might help?
My diverse interests have let me to dip my toe in many waters. I feel blessed to be able to do all the things I am doing, and I hope I won’t forget any of them.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a [hip hop] DJ. Beat juggling and scratching were just the coolest things. I met a few DJ friends, and tried to learn about DJing by carrying their gears to parties. Eventually, I gave up on the idea. The equipment is costly, let alone the constant need to buy more records (not interested in mixing mp3s at the time).
Forward many years, I am still not rich, and I don’t want to be a hip hop DJ (at least for now), but I started collecting records. It started with reggae records – they just have the coolest covers! Slowly, I also collect classical guitar records, as some of them are just never digitized. Record covers are more artistic, even if the same image is reprinted on the CD booklet. Maybe size does matter – I feel like I can hang a record cover up on a wall, not a CD booklet. I also started colleting records that have the coolest, or silliest covers
I would like to use this page to showcase some records I have.

For many years, I face an internal conflict and am still dealing with the same dilemma: I was taught to stay calm and “hide” yourself. And if I don’t know you well, I don’t tend to talk much. As I came to the States, I find people, in general, are more outspoken. I also speak kind of quiet (at least I would like to think that way). I don’t mean to “blame” others for not letting me speak up. I just can’t help it. But I do have things I want to say. I hope this site can let me scream a bit.
